Janine read this paragraph in one of the many ‘marriage and child raising books’ when their children were very small. It sounded great, so she planned three days away with Paul and organised to have the children minded by family. It was such a great success that she tried to organise two or three weekends each year where she and Paul could take that time out to do just what she had read – create a retreat time of fun, sightseeing, dinner out, lots of conversation, some prayer together, maybe the reading together of a book on marriage or family life, (James Dobson was always popular), and it became a time of strengthening the marriage and looking forward to getting back to the family so they could put into practice some of the ideas for godly parenting that they had come up with during this time. Just spending that time together was so invaluable! It was really a Parent’s Retreat!

Janine and Paul now have the ideal place available for other parents (both couples or singles) to book ahead of time to create their own ‘Parents Retreat.’

They will make available many books on marriage and family including all of their own Parent’s Arise books, manuals, music and short parenting course on DVD which can be watched at no extra cost in the comfort of the Cottage if so desired.

GRAHAM’S COTTAGE

Graham’s Cottage on Island Views Property is a studio apartment catering for a couple. It is set in a peaceful farm environment with magnificent views over the Tamar River and Island.

This is an ideal retreat for couples who need some time out to regroup, recover or plan.

The Cottage is equipped with air-conditioning, limited cooking facilities, TV, DVD player, CD player and books to read. Situated close to local attractions, restaurants and cafes plus recreational walks, the Cottage provides an opportunity to relax and explore.
